GENDER EQUALITY

Introduction

Among the world’s population, almost half is represented by women. A very capable section of society but often oppressed in terms of social equality, educational opportunities, deprived of access to healthcare and often underrepresented at the level of political and global leadership. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. Right to education is the foundation to achieve a humane society where no individual is left behind. Education plays a very important role in achieving The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030. Every girl child should be provided with the basic right to education and health care. Universities or Educational institutions of the world, with their resources and manpower, can make small steps towards addressing this global issue and play a wider role in their community. Nitte DU has taken several measures to promote gender equality on its campus.
