As per Global estimates, the pandemic has halted or reversed the progress made over the past decade in health, especially reproductive, maternal, and child health, and shortened life expectancy. With the rising prevalence of noncommunicable diseases along with the emerging and re-emerging communicable diseases, there is an increasing need for countering this trend with good health care, quality health education, and building a healthy society.
