University is committed to ensure decent work culture and economic growth of employee. Structured employment practise in place through service rule, framing policy, and implementation. Staff development centre of the university conducts program on regular basis to ensure enhanced competency among staff to train the students as per the current market trend. Curriculum is designed as per the revolutionary national education policy of the country. Structure of the curriculum enables holistic development, provide flexibility to choose subject of interest, encourages experimental learning to acquire skills. State of the art facility is created to impart skills to students. Soft skill, employability training is held for students to meet the job market demands. Demand surged for skilled workers, emphasizing upskilling. Higher education imparts advanced skills, mobility, and a global outlook. Universities enhance skills and foster better employment. Nitte (DU) excels in quality education, producing capable, ethical individuals for challenges. Empower youth through top-notch education and skills. Language Lab:

English Language Laboratory ?Subhashini? offers an immersive environment where students can develop their English language and communication skills effectively. The primary objective of Subhashini is to provide a structured and interactive setting for students to practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Subhashini is equipped with computers, headsets, microphones, and customized language learning software and audio resources. These tools enable students to engage in a variety of language exercises, from pronunciation drills to interactive dialogues. It equips students with essential language skills, preparing them for effective communication in diverse settings.





Incubation Centre:

Atal incubation centre (AIC) Nitte Incubation Centre is promoted jointly by Nitte Education Trust and NITI Aayog under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of Government of India. AIC Nitte aims to accelerate the entrepreneurial vision of the nation by fostering a start-up ecosystem that converts ideas into successful businesses led by capable and ambitious business leaders. The Centre accomplishes this vision by providing start- ups with valuable expertise and guidance, technological assistance, access to investors, access to markets, networks, and industry connections, along with a whole host of other services. Start-ups also receive direction through the robust chain of mentors who give sector- specific information and real-time practical guidance.

Fab- Lab:

Fabrication Laboratory at AIC Nitte is a state-of-the-art facility designed to foster creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning. Fab-Lab is equipped with cutting-edge tools and technology to inspire individuals, students, and entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into new products and prototypes by giving them access to a range of advanced digital fabrication tools and machines. The aim of Fab-Lab is to facilitate and provide the environment, skill set, advanced materials and technology to make prototypes low-cost and more efficiently to entrepreneurs, students, artists, small businesses and for research projects.

SOFT SKILLS AND PLACEMENT TRAINING

  • Soft skill training sessions are conducted in association with industry to orient students towards acquiring decent job. Crack The Campus (CTC) online aptitude training for the students was held on 8th April 2023. CTC is the aptitude training program initiated by placement cell of the university to help junior students by senior placed students to improve their quantitative aptitude and coding skills by conducting 15 tests through an online platform. Employee Readiness Programme is regularly conducted by placement cell.
  • Peer help is the unique initiative taken to improve communication skills and interview through peer helpers.
  • Zenken Day-Japan Cultural and Career Forum Event was jointly organized by Zenken Corporation, Japan on 8th December 2023.
  • Mind Maze event was organized on October 28, 2023, to foster problem-solving, coding, and logical thinking skills of students.
  • Life skills training program was organized in associate with rubicon





EMPLOYEE

Medicare Facility:

Staff welfare policy is in place for the employees of university. Various services, benefits and facilities offered to the employees by the employer. It includes anything that is done for the comfort and improvement of employees and is provided over and above the salary/ wages. Employees not covered under ESI are provided subsidized health care in the multi- specialty Justice K.S. Hegde Hospital and in the urban and rural health centres managed by the University. Subsidies amounting up to 50% is offered on investigations, room rent, and charges. All employees are offered a free medical examination at the time of recruitment and every year thereafter. Comprehensive dental care is offered free of cost to all employees. Free mammography for screening of breast cancer is offered to women employees of the University

Faculty Development Program And Workshop The Department of Pharmacology, KSHEMA organized a hands-on workshop on 'Understanding the Mechanism of Bio-Molecular & Small Molecular Interactions by In Silico Approach' on 2nd September 2023.

Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy organized a workshop on 'ABC of Teaching & Learning' on 19th January 2023.




STAFF DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
  • Staff development centre is regularly organising program to impart skills and train employee of the university on spectrum of theme. During the year 2023 following staff development program were organized: Creating Blended Learning Resources, Mentoring Skills, Stress Management, Essentials of Outcome Based Education in Curriculum Design, Voice care for teaching professionals, Team Building, Reference Management, Sharpening Communication Skills & Presentation Skills, Video Recording & Editing for Online content creation, Classroom Management Series- Beginning a New Academic Year, personal finance management.
  • Hands-on Workshop on Microbial Genomics and Metagenomics was organized in association with Biokart India Pvt. Ltd. on 17th-21st July 2023
  • The Nursing Education Unit (NEU) and Student Innovation Club (SIC) of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences in collaboration with IIC, Nitte DU, organized an event on 28th February 2023 at the University Auditorium, Paneer Campus to orient the staff and students to the concepts of Social Entrepre-neurship, Entrepre-neurship Skill, Attitude and Behaviour Develop-ment.
  • The Dental Education Unit of A.B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences in association with Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences conducted an interdisciplinary skill development program for the interns & postgraduate students from 30th March to 1st April 2023 at the Central Skill Lab, Justice KS Hegde Charitable Hospital.
  • Hands-on Training for Laboratory Support Personnel of NUCSER on chemical Safety by Mr. Amith Lionel Ananda, Senior Manager Quality Control, Cardolite Speciality Chemicals India LLP.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) skill enhancement workshop was conducted from August 3rd to August 16th, 2023.
  • Industry-Academia Empowerment Program Series was inaugurated on 1st December 2023 by Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr M S Moodithaya, Nitte (Deemed to be University). followed by Hands on empowerment series was conducted for 200 faculty members from all the 14 constituent institutes the University.

    A DAY AS A SCIENTIST

    Nitte University Centre for Science Education & Research hosted the inquisitive Class X students of Manipal School, Attavar, Mangaluru, for "A Day as a Scientist" on 13th October 2023. The event was planned to introduce the Class X students to the World of Biological Research, to showcase the research facilities at the institute and to apprise them about the current areas of biomedical research. Students were introduced to the concepts of handling microorganisms, basics of bio and nanotechnology, applications of biomedical science in environmental health, food technology.
